Veterinary Medicine Academic Scholarship – Kate Maas

“I am incredibly honored to be the recipient of the 2019 Oxbow Animal Health Veterinary Medicine Scholarship,” said Kate Maas, DVM Candidate at the University of Illinois – College of Veternary Medicine. “Many do not realize the crippling debt that veterinary students acquire throughout four (or more) years of graduate school tuition. With the generous financial support from Oxbow, students like myself are encouraged to chase their veterinary dreams wholeheartedly. Receiving this scholarship has not only boosted my academic morale, but it has also motivated me to be the best student I can possibly be. I will remain forever grateful to Oxbow Animal Health in the pursuit of my childhood dreams. As Oxbow states, “today’s students are tomorrow’s veterinary leaders.”

Undergraduate Academic Scholarship – Brianna Huff

“I was humbled and honored to learn that I was chosen as the 2019 recipient of the Oxbow Undergraduate Scholarship,” said recipient Brianna Huff. “Receiving this scholarship will supplement my education within Animal Sciences here at the University of Illinois, and allow me to continue on to veterinary school in the future. This award brings me closer to fulfilling my dream of working as a small animal and exotic veterinarian, and will allow me to further my knowledge in order to become an even stronger advocate for the welfare of animals and their owners.”

Veterinary Technology Scholarship – Ellie Peters & Sherri Rios

“I am honored to be selected as this year’s recipient of the Oxbow Vet Tech Academic Scholarship,” said Ellie Peters. “This fall, I will be enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Northeast Community College. I am very excited to begin the next chapter of my life. Support like yours will allow me the benefit of staying focused on my education. I truly appreciate your financial assistance; it will help me attain my goals.” “It means so much to me that I will have this opportunity to expand my knowledge and be able to share what I will learn with my fellow peers,” said Sherri Rios. “Being awarded this scholarship will be vital in helping me pursue my goals in advancing on how society views exotic animal nutrition, as well as educating about health care for these unique critters.”

Nebraska High School Scholarship – BaiLee Ann McMilllan

“Your generous scholarship has helped lighten my financial burden as I plan to pursue a career in veterinary medicine,” said BaiLee Ann McMillan, recipient of the 2019 Nebraska High School Scholarship. “This will allow me to focus more on my classes at UNL. I hope to return to rural Nebraska to practice, and I look forward to protecting animals from disease, improving their health, and supporting farmers and ranchers with their animal enterprises. Thank you again for this opportunity!”
