100% wheat straw.
Non-toxic, no odor or dust

  • Eco-Straw uses special technology to compress high fiber wheat straw into a pellet that is twice as absorbent as newspaper based litter and will absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture.
  • When wet, Eco-Straw pellets expand and separate, allowing the wet areas to be scooped on a daily basis. This eliminates waste and the litter will last longer than traditional wood shavings.
  • Natural fiber from the wheat grass plant is not only safe if consumed by your pet, but can be beneficial to the digestive system of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other plant eating animals.
  • Eco-Straw is your ideal choice for a safe, dust free litter or bedding for your pet. It is toilet flushable and beneficial to the soil when composted. Heat treatment of the pellets guarantees that Eco-Straw will be mite and insect free.
  • Eco-Straw is cleaner and more hygienic for your pet than wood shavings. Due to the unique characteristics of Eco-Straw the urine will migrate below the surface area thereby moving moisture away from your pet.
  • Easier to clean means less time cleaning cages and more time with your pet. Eco-Straw stays in the cage and litter pan and is not easily kicked or thrown out by active pets.
  • Eco-Straw will not track or stick to coats of animals with long hair, thus making the owner and pet more content and happy.

“We love Eco-Straw for our litter needs.  It's easy to use, easy to clean, and keeps the bad odors away.  Plus, it's nice to know it's safe if eaten.  Really great stuff!"

This is the best litter that I have ever found for my rabbit. I cannot find another litter that even compares. I am heartbroken that it is discontinued! :(

I've been an Oxbow convert since I got my first rabbit. I appreciate the quality and community of the brand. Surprised to see litter added to the lineup, i jumped to try it. I love that it is a consistent size, no crumbling. It's held up to a week without changing. Dad actually likes the smell and even better? I feel safe disposing the litter in our Yard Waste bin.

This is an amazing product. I have chinchillas and I have tried wood shavings, carefresh bedding and vitakraft liners in the litter trays of their cages. I have not been satisfied with any of them. The wood shavings are dusty, they really don't absorb the urine very well and start to smell fairly quickly. The carefresh bedding was supposed to have odor control to it, but it wasn't as good as I would have liked and it's expensive. With 6 chinchillas in 5 cages the smell can get bad in just a few days. I also tried the Vitakraft liners and while that made cleanup much quicker there wasn't any odor control to that product and it would begin to smell in just a couple days. The other problem with the carefresh and the vitakraft was that if my chinnies managed to reach down into their litter tray they could get a hold of those products and start to chew on them, which was quite worrisome.
I found this product online and figured I could give it a try and I can't say enough great things about it! It's more absorbent than any of the other products, there isn't any dust, it lasts much longer between cage cleanings, there isn't any foul odor and if my chinnies manage to get a hold of it and chew it, it won't be toxic or harmful to them.
Oxbow...great, great product!! Please do not stop making it!

I have to emphasize Olson's comment by voicing again..."Oxbow...great, great product!! Please do not stop making it! I have 3 Rex rabbits who enjoy eating their litter!! With all other products I worry. Knowing that your product is safe to consume and is high in fiber...something rabbits need. I just don't worry! I've tried many other brands and I have found that this one easily beats them in the categories of odour, absorbency, dust and lasts much longer. By scooping out the wet clumps I just have to top it up. I was told by a few pet stores that their rabbits never eat the litter but mine actually have a grazing hole. With Oxbow I don't worry. I don't know what makes my rabbits different than pet store employee rabbits but with all other products I worry. Nothing like having a good sleep. Oxbow Eco-Straw is the best! Keep on making it! We will keep telling pet stores about your products asking them to bring it in and we will continue raving to everyone that listens about your product!

I've only had a rabbit for 4 months, but I can already tell that I just love your product. I do hope that you will start manufacturing this, or something similar, again. Thanks!!
