Murdock, NE, March 28, 2012 -- Oxbow Animal Health held its spring Exotic Companion Mammal Symposium on March 18th with Dr. Gregory Rich and the West Esplanade Veterinary Clinic in Metairie, Louisiana.  The continuing education event offered attendees 7 credits and centered on exotic pet health and nutrition, featuring lectures by Drs. Gregory Rich and Micah Kohles, with Dr. Dan Johnson of Avian and Exotic Animal Care in Raleigh, North Carolina serving as the day’s keynote speaker. 

Symposium attendees enjoyed lectures covering topics including: Herbivore GI Function and Nutrition, GI Stasis in Small Herbivores, Rabbit Calcium Metabolism, Bladder Sludge, and Urolithias, Rabbit and Guinea Pig Abscesses: Causes and Cures, Practical Reptile Medicine, Ferret Gastrointestinal Function and Nutrition, Ferret Endocrine Disease, and Endotracheal Intubation and Post-Surgical Care, as well as a round table discussion to conclude the event.
